In Part-3 of Leadership Mother Tongue, we understood “Evolving Leadership mother tongue, Practical Steps to Identify and Build Leadership Mother Tongue and Moving from Leadership Mother Tongue to Leadership Multilingualism”.
In today’s dynamic and demanding business world, to truly excel as a leader ,transitioning from a single “mother tongue” to a “multilingual” leadership approach is essential.
I had come across the below quote in my early leadership days and found it very interesting and tried to live by it.
“To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart”- Eleanor Roosevelt
I leverage the below self-developed and time tested approach and framework to help my leaders (clients) identify their current state and accelerate their journey to move to their desired state (goals) by understanding their strengths and barriers. What worked? What did not work and why?
Tool 1: “The Inside-Out impact compass” – A 4 step Leadership Self-Reflection Framework which helps leaders in arriving at the current state leadership inventory (as I call it):
1. Core Values: What principles guide your decisions?
2. Natural Strengths: What leadership traits feel most intuitive to you?
3. Preferred Style: How do you naturally communicate and influence others? Do you follow the same always?
4. Behavioural Tendencies: You behavioural tendencies and how they lead to perceptions and eventually feedback?
5. Cultural Influences: How has your background shaped your leadership approach?
6. I use the “Inside-Out impact compass” (framework) which helps in “Leadership inventory – Current state analysis” to enable you with the resources for the next steps to move forward in your journey.
If you are interested to know and learn how the framework will help you, how it will accelerate your growth connect with me on “kasturi_coach@yahoo.com”. Many of my clients have been benefited and happy with the above framework.
In Part 5 we will look at practical tools and frameworks to “Identify and Build Multilingual Leadership Mother Tongue”.
We will understand the DRS framework and model than can be leveraged to develop or adapt your “Multilingual leadership” style. It acts as a “Clarity Compass” to identify your options, leverage your strengths and resources without compromising on your core values and principles.
